It was designed as a successor to to successful Minimoog, and is regarded as a classic.The instrument was capable of a wide range of synthetic sounds, from deep sub-bass lows to gentle upper range flute sounds, to atonal noise. The wave forms generated by its two voltage controlled oscillators could be detuned up or down by more than a fifth, with more wave forms produced by its low frequency oscillator. It was popular with the English electro-pop bands of the early 1980s. Among its champions were Hammersmith-born Gary Numan, and Howard Jones who played the instrument throughout his career which, included a Royal Albert Hall concert on Christmas Eve, 1984."
