A metal wing (gshog-ma) is attached to the mouth of the shell. This consists of a large rectangular plate, one edge of which follows the axis of the shell. The wing is inlaid with semi-precious stones.  It has repouss\u00e9 decoration incorporating a dragon and a sea-serpent (chu srin), vegetation and a border of flowers along two sides."
