This specimen was made by Vernon Edwards, a renowned natural history model maker. His models were based on the most up-to-date information available at the time. Examples of his work were used to illustrate the first scientific book about dinosaurs intended for a public audience 'The Dinosaurs: A Short History of a Great Group of Extinct Reptiles' Swinton, W.E. of the British Museum (Natural History), 1934. Today many of Edwards' models no longer reflect current opinions about the species they represent, but this model still provides a good idea of how this species probably looked in life.
