Taxidermy case of adult male and adult female Velvet Scoter. According to Edward Hart, writing on 21 April 1927, 'Left (no 1): adult female, January 15th 1881; right (no 2): adult male, January 15th 1881. Shot by me off the Ledge, Christchurch Bay. Sexes differ; summer and winter plumage the same. Mounted by me'.
