The largest part is divided horizontally into 2 sections containing smaller rectangular areas decorated with 2 different patterns. Toward 1 end is a band with 3 floral or star-shaped motifs on a brown ground. The remainder of the cloth is patterned with a cream centre decorated with 6 black star-shaped motifs bordered  with thin stencilled stripes and wide black stripes. The outside edge on the longer sides has been cut to create fine fringing.",

            "value": "Long rectangular cream barkcloth with painted decoration in black and brown. The textile has 3 distinct areas of patterning. The largest part is divided horizontally into 2 sections. Vertical dividing lines create a pattern of smaller rectangular areas. These are decorated alternatingly with grouped sets of finely drawn lines or solidly coloured with lighter grouped stripes. Toward 1 end is a band with 3 floral or star-shaped motifs on a brown ground. The remainder of the cloth is patterned with a cream centre decorated with 6 black star-shaped motifs. This is bordered on the longer sides with thin brown, stencilled stripes patterned with bands or diagonals. On the outsides are wide black stripes. The outside edge on the longer sides has been cut to create fine fringing."
