Victoria Pinnington

Victoria Pinnington is Chief Executive (Interim) for the Horniman and is responsible for the strategic leadership of the Communications and Income Generation Directorate.
The Directorate comprises marketing, communications, fundraising, membership, digital, visitor experience and commercial operations. Since joining the Horniman in 2012, Victoria has been focusing on diversifying and developing both audiences and income across commercial, charitable activities and fundraising revenue streams. An experienced marketing and communications strategist, Victoria has over 20 years' management experience in both private and public sectors. Following a number of sales and marketing roles for international organisations, with a particular focus on Spain, Portugal and Latin America, Victoria moved to London from her hometown of Manchester in 2000 to take on a business development role for Eurocentres – a Swiss foundation offering language learning worldwide. Whilst much of her time was spent overseas managing key accounts particularly in Asia, she was also tasked with the establishment of a new UK-based sales and admissions office in London. Following subsequent management roles at Jarvis plc and Lewisham College, in 2007 Victoria joined King's College London – one of the world's top 25 universities – as Head of International Marketing. In this role, Victoria was responsible for the design and leadership of the university's global marketing strategy and by 2010 had overseen growth in King's international student population of over 50% and won a gold industry award for the best international marketing campaign. She holds a degree in Latin American Studies, a CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing and is a Full Member of the Institute of Fundraising. Victoria is a Trustee at Kids in Museums, a governor at Forest Hill School, a Trustee of HOME, Manchester’s centre for contemporary theatre, film, art and music. She lives in Forest Hill, London with her husband and two young sons.
