Online Family Rave

Join Big Fish Little Fish for our first family rave streamed live, to support the Horniman Museum and Gardens.

Tune in on Friday 17 July, 4.30-6pm for a free family-friendly hip hop set with DJ Prime Cuts (Scratch Perverts) live from the Horniman galleries.

Get raving on the (virtual) dance floor and raise donations for the Horniman!

The original family ravers and award winners Big Fish Little Fish became the first family virtual rave on Mothers’ Day. Over 400k households have now joined in with their free weekly Kitchen Raves, held every Sunday online.

This fundraising event is free to view online (see the official links below).

All donations are appreciated. You can make a donation directly using the form on this page.

We hope that everyone who joins in will donate what they can. 100% of all donations will go to the Horniman Museum and Gardens to support the wonderful collections, maintain the Gardens, feed and look after our animals and fish, and to help it inspire future generations of London’s children with stories about the world we all share.

Big Fish Little Fish and Prime Cuts are generously giving their time and equipment free of charge.

Make a carnival headdress to wear during the Rave in this tutorial.

How to watch

You can view the Rave online on Facebook, Twitch and YouTube:

You can also join in the chat on the channels. Rave on!

The very first family rave in the Horniman Gardens was held in 2019.  This fabulous sell-out event was planned again for this year but had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 lockdown.

Now we want to give as many people as possible the chance to join our favourite family rave event from your own home, and to celebrate the upcoming re-opening of the Horniman later in the month.
