About this event

Enjoy a range of fun activities run by Arts Network to boost your wellbeing. Activities include storytelling and Museum trails, all inspired by autumn colours and the power of nature.

Why are the leaves red in Autumn? 

  • Times: 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3pm
  • Location: Hands On Base

Follow the adventures of Black Cloud, Rainbow and the Forest Animals, in a musical rendition of the traditional Canadian folktale "Rainbow and the Autumn Leaves".

Each session lasts approx. 45 mins

Recommended for ages 3+ but open to all

Arts Network - Get Your Five a Day

  • Times: 10.30am – 12pm and 1.30pm -3pm
  • Location: Throughout the Museum

We challenge you to use the Horniman collections to improve your wellbeing, exploring the Museum in a new way. The Wellbeing Trail uses the principles of 5 ways to wellbeing to take you on a journey round the Museum. Search for the wellbeing checkpoints in the World Gallery, Music Gallery, Natural History Gallery and Gallery Square, where you’ll be asked to complete a task or challenge. 

Everyone welcome - drop in.

Arts Network – Autumn Hedgehogs

  • Times: 10.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm and 2.30pm
  • Location: Education Centre

Keep the hedgehogs warm and cosy this autumn. Create a coat out of leaves for your paper hedgehog and decorate it inspired by the colours of autumn.

Please queue outside the Museum entrance. Limited spaces. Sessions last approximately 45 minutes.

Therapy 4 Healing – Relaxation and de-stressing workshops                 

  • Times: 11am, 11.45am, 1.15pm and 2pm
  • Location: Gardens Pavilion

Join Therapy 4 Healing, a local social enterprise promoting health and well-being, for a family friendly workshop that will help you relax and unwind. Come along and learn how to:

  • De-stress yourself and your children using hands and scent
  • Take a deep breath and ‘wiggle out all the angst’
  • Stretch like a cat to unwind and relax

Limited spaces. Sessions last approximately 30 minutes.
