Chill out to global sounds on our Bandstand Terrace with styles ranging from New Orleans brass and Celtic reels to Brazilian samba and Afro-Punk.
The Horniman Café will be open on the Terrace for light snacks and drinks.
- 26 July: Kabantu. A five-piece hailing from Manchester, formed in 2014, Kabantu unravel new marriages of music from around the globe to celebrate the space where different cultures meet.
- 2 August: KOG & The Zongo Brigade. The 9-piece deliver infectious West African vibes from Ghana via Sheffield, with diverse origins conflating to whip up their signature heady brew of afrobeat, soul, funk and reggae otherwise dubbed “Afro-fusion”.
- 9 August: The Brass Funkeys. Drawing from the traditions of New Orleans with skilled musicianship, rolling from spirited second line revelry to soulful jazz funeral marches and brass driven funk. Reggae, hip hop, gypsy, swing and Latin influences are exposed in an eclectic live show revealing a band bursting at the seams with ideas and infectious energy.
