As Head of Learning and Engagement Lucy manages the Formal Learning, Community Engagement and Volunteering teams. She first joined the Horniman as a Learning Assistant in 2015 and has since worked across a range of roles within the Learning team, giving her a deep understanding of the organisation and the communities it serves. An award‑winning museum learning leader, Lucy brings over a decade of experience in programme development, cross‑team working, object‑based learning, and evidence‑informed practice. As Formal Learning Manager, she led the team to win the 2024 Museums + Heritage Award for Learning Programme of the Year, recognising the Horniman’s inclusive and sector‑leading approach to learning. Lucy’s work is grounded in a commitment to collaboration, co‑production, and widening access. She cares deeply about demystifying the cultural sector and co-creating programmes that genuinely reflect the needs and priorities of local communities. With a particular focus on Lewisham, she is especially passionate about supporting entry‑level pathways that support people to build meaningful futures in the sector.
