Join us for a free celebration featuring a vibrant programme of activities led by refugees and people seeking sanctuary.

With something for all ages, the day offers plenty of opportunities to learn and create together and to connect with each other.

Take part in a range of timed and drop-in workshops throughout the day, including the traditional Afghan art of kite-making, and drama workshops for children and young people aged 8 to 16, designed and facilitated by young leaders. Explore artwork by refugee artists and hear a traditional Ukrainian bandura performance.

Join Pan Intercultural Arts for a live recording of ‘Ready To Be Cancelled’, a podcast where three hosts come together for honest, unfiltered conversations about life, culture, relationships, current events, and everything in between.

Plateful Cafe are delighted to collaborate with the Horniman Museum at the Crossing borders event by offering: pastry and cake, products on our stall, cupcake decoration class and arts exhibition by refugee artists.

Join a live podcast delivered by artists from Pan Intercultural Arts – a London charity which works across ethnic, cultural and faith boundaries to encourage understanding, integration and empowerment throughout our diverse society, driven by a desire to improve the lives of young people within our communities and to bring the healing power of the arts to those who have suffered trauma or social injustice.

Plateful Cafe

Plateful Cafe aims to help refugees gain independence by providing a clear pathway to mainstream employment, while offering local communities a glimpse into different cultures and cuisines.

Plateful gives refugees the chance to turn their passion for food into a career in hospitality and help them settle into life in a new country. It offers training, London Living Wage jobs and volunteer opportunities to those who otherwise face barriers to employment.

Grupo de Danza Folclórica Orgullo Catracho Honduras UK

Grupo de Danza Folclórica Orgullo Catracho Honduras UK was founded in 2023 by Ruth Sierra, and they are proud to be the first Honduran folkloric dance group established in the United Kingdom.

The group was created after seeing the lack of Honduran folkloric dance representation in the UK. Ruth founded Orgullo Catracho for three main reasons: first, because of her passion for dance; second, to represent Honduras and share the richness and beauty of our folkloric traditions; and third, to bring Hondurans and people from different backgrounds together through a shared love of dance and a deep love for Honduras.
