The lift will be out of service until Friday 28 June while we work on a replacement, and the Museum may be noisier at times due to these works.
An oval box in Bidri ware with lid. The box is divided into two compartments. The lid is decorated with an all over design of poppy flowers and the sides of the box are decorated with a border of stylised grasses with scrolling poppy motifs.
This is probably a Paan box made in Bidar or Hyderabad at the end of the nineteenth century.
These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
