Dancer's hat of papier mache shaped to fit the head closely and painted black. At the rear a raised section curves from the nape to the crown, forming a ridge, at the top of which is a small triangular gold-painted decorative badge at the front of the hat. Around the lower edges of the hat is a strip of leather with a decorative pattern of perforations and with more or less triangular points projecting along the upper edge, painted in gilt.
