A wrapped work basket, see Radcliffe-Brown p.462. Twelve lengths of cane laid across one another in groups of three have been bent into a U shaped cone. The ends have been bound to another length of cane which forms the rim of the basket. Between each length is a thinner strip of cane which supports the basket. A thin strip of cane is wrapped horizontally around each strut forming the mesh of the basket.
These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
