Square stamping block, cap, cut from laminated wood with two cut hand-holds on opposing sides of one face. On the opposite face a pattern of short lines, curves and motifs has been carved from the wood and outlined in metal strips. The remainder of the space has been covered with small rectangular, square and round metal pins. The textile tool is for use in the wax-block or cap process in batik (applying the hot wax on to the fabric to create the resist pattern to the textile).
