Completed wooden toy cow cut from a block and carved into shape, with ears, horns and teats added, and painted white overall with red patches. One of 17 specimens illustrating the stages in making wooden cows and elephants. The technique used is one of turning a large block on a lathe to produce in cross-section the shape of the animal desired. Individual animals are then cut radially from the block and finished.
