Flute in D, dark brown wood; wide silver mounts. Eight silver keys, flat, round, the cover plates forged separately from the shanks, mounted in turned blocks. Duplicate finger-plates for B flat. Two alternative head joints, numbered 1 and 2. Head No. 1 incorporates a metal tuning slide: both components are cracked. Head No.2 is simple. Lower (right hand) joint and foot are integral. Movable cork stoppers, ivory and metal brushed. Sounding length (embouchure to foot) is 59.3 cm. In fitted wooden case. Stamped: Monzani and Co 28 Regent St Piccadilly London (Crown marked and number 2119). Dated 1822 (hall-marked).
