

Flute in D, boxwood, ivory mounts. Six finger holes, four silver keys, round, deeply cupped, mounted in blocks. Movable cork stopper in wooden cap. Instrument body is warped; one ivory mount missing. F natural key missing. Touchpiece of D-sharp key broken off and missing. Hole of F natural key sealed with red wax. Head very badly split. Sounding length (embouchure to foot) is 52 cm. Stamped: Potter London. Sun mark and Patent mark on back of mouthpiece. Dated 1822 on right hand joints and 1823 on each of the other four joints.
