Eight silver keys, the foot keys plug-type, the remainder round and cupped, mounted in turned blocks, the pivot-blocks metal-lined. Metal lined head joint and tuning slide, movable cork-faced hardwood stopper. Sounding length (embouchure to foot) is 57.5 cm. Elaborately chased silver ferrules. Upper (left hand) joint recessed for left forefinger, surface of lower (right hand) joint flatted at the finger holes and surfaced with lizard skin for right thumb. Springs of B flat and cross F natural keys defective. The head joint has been shortened. The top tenon of the upper middle joint has been shortened. The metal tip to the middle tenon is a repair.
