Dao (Naga type of axe/chopper). Metal blade of basic triangular shape: short, single edged curved blade, with pointed end on one side and curved angled wing on the back/top side. Short width of plaited cane around haft-end where the blade is inserted, with a longer area of narrow fibre strips bound and plaited on, covered in dark resin. One side of the haft end, along nearly half its length, decorated with black hair fringe, dyed red in places, with two rows of six short tufts of red and black hair at the haft tip.
