North Indian steel shield, dhal, chiselled overall with foliage and medallions containing figures from the Hindu pantheon. Four metal bosses at the centre. The steel has been subsequently decorated with silver koftgari ornament.
Produced for the decorative market in the late 19th or early 20th century.
