Short smock or blouse. Straight bands of material are cut out, gathered at the neck and reinforced by a collar. The sleeves are typical of the old Romanian peasant costumes and have a local feature, the “riuri” or riverlike embroidery of the sleeve which continues over the smocking reaching the shoulder. The designs embroidered in a special kind of stitch typical of this area are brightened by silver thread and tinsel, which are commonly used in the Region of Pitesti. (Cotton thread, fine coloured woollen thread and tinsel, industrial product). Length at back 470mm, length of sleeve 1000mm.
