Raised sandal, paduka, one of a pair, the sole of each made of one piece of light wood with two crosspieces carved below raising the sandal, the sole flat, narrowing in the middle and curving to a point front and back. A piece of darker turned wood is attached (glued?) to the upper side, narrowing where it can be gripped between the big toe and second toe, widening above into a flatter part with concentric grooves, then narrowing again and terminating in a small knob.
