One of a pair of ear plugs from the Wai Wai people of Guyana. The face of the plug is decorated with a piece of freshwater mussel shell and yellow feathers (from Toucan breast). Beeswax holds the shell, the piece of wood and the feathers together. The plug has a piece of string extending from the top of the wood made from vegetable fibre.
