Hair tube from the Mawayan people of North Brazil. Made from a variety of feathers, which include Cock of the Rock, toucans, parrakeets, cotingas, in various colours including red, yellow, orange, black, white, purple, pale blue and dark blue. Part of the body of a bird remains, with the foot. The tube is made from bamboo and decorated with pale green and white beads in a geometric pattern. The tube and decoration are held in place with plant fibre.
