Cloak (aba) silk. Made from a single piece of cloth; red silk weft, mainly black warp with a broad red edge stripe and white and yellow threads forming chevron patterns on it. With green lining. Sewn at the shoulders, connected by a pattern-woven green and gold ribbon. The hand hole on each shoulder is on the top edge, not the side fold as is more usual. Green twined silk piping is sewn to the neck opening and halfway down the front opening on either side. w [at shoulder] 68.5"; l.39.5".
