headband (head ornament)

Headband of fourteen strands of coloured beads in orange, red, blue, green, white, black and yellow. The headband has a pendant of aluminium, which is the shape of an arrow. The pendant is attached to a cream button.
Headband of beads, plastic and aluminium. beads from Womba town. Plastic from plastic shoes. Tin aluminium cut with knife. Threaded on wire. Worn by girls or newly married women. After a woman is married for a bit she will cut off the pendant. she does not have to wait until she has a child. She wears it all the time except when working. She would wear it especially at ceremonies and visits. This one is made at the village of Womba. Made by girls or mothers.
