rug; textile

Rectangular multicoloured tapestry woven rug of Yeibichai type with a cotton warp and a wool weft. The textile consists of a decorated panel surrounded by a mainly brown border. At the centre of the panel are two large human figures of female appearance holding feathers in their outstretched hands. They have lightning motifs at the elbows. Above and below the figures are arrow motifs. Along the longer sides is a stripe consisting of inward-facing brown- or grey-tipped feathers. The ground is predominantly an orange-pink, changing to a redder pink at top and bottom.
