Large yellow and red/brown silk tubular skit cloth, sarong. It has a yellow, red, and pale blue chequered pattern in the main field, the 'badan'. Additionally, at every other intersection of the chequered patterning is a small, gold-coloured geometric motif. A wide, vertical panel, called the 'kepala', has a yellow/brown ground and the chequered patterning is fainter. It is also patterned with rows of eight-pointed star alternating with floral motifs. The kepala is framed with a geometric pattern on all four sides. The gold patterning is worked in continuous and discontinuous supplementary weft using metal-wrapped thread. The warp ends are sewn together by hand. [Textile]
