CMs cat: 'Denkbuch or memorial book, presented as a Testimony of Friendship on the commencement of the New Year. It consists of a case covered with green paper embellished with gold containing a model-picture upon blue crape in a gold frame, representing the capital of a pillar upon which is stood a gold vase filled with coloured flowers, and behind rises a sprig of roses; upon the capital lays a scroll bearing the following inscription 'Ihnen werde Gluck and Wonne! Des Buches inhalt mir zum Lohne. May good fortune and joy come to you and may the contents of this book be my reward'. Upon the scroll rests a book with the mother of pearl cover, which when open exhibits a sprig of forget-me-not. Beneath the picture is a card engraved with the name Elizabeth, formed of rose leaves and flowers.'
