Small trolling hook constructed with a curved shank of hard wood into which is inlaid and tied a lenticular slab of haliotis shell. This is bound at the end with a snood of muka (processed phormium tenax fibres.) a bone hook with a single barb is inserted in to the other end of the shank and lashed tightly in to place with a n elaborate snood of the same fibre.
