Pair of man's cream-coloured, heavily fulled breeches. They have extensive black, commercially made (?) thick braiding which acts both as decoration and gives the garment strength. It is sewn round the crotch, along the inside and outside leg and around the hem. The braiding also forms two narrow 'U' shapes at the front side, providing a false pocket. Of identical appearance are two functional pockets on the back. The top of the breeches has been folded inside, providing a deep channel through which a belt/cord might pass. The trousers fit tightly on the leg. There is an opening at the inside bottom, secured with four hooks and eyes. [Textile]
