An A-line cream-coloured cotton skirt with a waistband. It has an opening at the centre back with a white plastic zip and two metal hooks and eyes. It is made of seven panels. The widest is at the front and has two 'columns' of very heavily embroidered black counted thead work. This is worked over the lower section of each seam. The embroidery continues around the rest of the skirt's border. It is deeper at the side seams. Attached to the hem is black cotton needlepoint lace trim (industrially manufactured?). [Textile]
