textile stencil

'Old' adire stencil made from a zinc sheet almost rectangular in shape with a holed rounded top for hanging. The patterning consists of bands and stripes of dots dividing the area into 6 squares. They contain from the top left a foliate motif, a swirl (sun?) motif, rows of star-shaped motifs interspersed with dots, rows of diamond motifs, a floral motif (?) arranged in an ovoid shape, and an eight-petalled motif, surrounded by smaller floral motifs. Some of the patterns on the textile tool have been repaired with folded strips of metal.
