Square box with flat base with inscription and separate inscribed lid; brass, lined with copper. On the lid the inscription in the column on the right 歐卓志先生惠存 'ou zhuo zhi xian sheng hui cun’ means for the recipient Mr. Ou zhuo zhi’s retention. The inscription in the left column 紫景昕 敬贈 'zi jing xin jing zeng’ means with the compliments of the donor Zi jing xin. The horizontal inscription ‘北京前門 Bei jing qian men’ refers to Qian Men, the square in Beijing city, China, depicted in the image.
