




Solid cast figure depicting a seated Ganesha on a lotus throne and an integral oblong base. He is wearing a tiered crown ending in a pointed top, with winged ear ornaments and a forehead band, as well as necklaces, bracelets, and armlets. A coiled cobra is resting on his belly, and his vehicle, the rat with a cross-hatched band around its body, is looking up at him. Both tusks are cut short, the right capped and shorter than the left. He has four arms, the right upper holding a goad, the left upper a noose, the right lower a broken tusk-point, and the left lower a ball or jewel on which the trunk rests. A tika or third eye on his forehead and a lotus and circles on his trunk and both knees. Made from copper alloy with incised detailing. Fine finish. A temple figure.
