Indian hunting knife with a partly chequered hilt made from black buffalo horn and fitted with a recurved crosspiece; in its leather sheath with belt loop and retaining strap. Knife 275mm long;sheath 150mm long.

The stamp on the scabbard could be the arms of a princely state. Dr Kenneth Robbins, donor of The Indian Princely State Legal Documents Collection at the University of Colombia Libraries could help here.
