tent band

Load or tent band, local name deve kolani or kolon; tightly woven tablet weave, flat, weft wrapped band. The main ground is of dark blue ‘eye’ motifs on plain dark red, bordered with an inner band of white and an outer band of alternate red and green. Both ends consist of two thick plaits tied at their ends to form a tassel. Midway along the band is another tassel of orange and white wool with four cowrie shells around it.
