Floor felt, rectangular, densely felted, white ground with inlaid motifs on one face: three sunbursts, a circle with rays or spokes in brown, green and red projecting out of the circle and passing through blue elements to form a corona with pointed ends. Each sunburst is separated by a diamond with nine apertures, each containing a spiked floral in red and green within a blue lattice; each diamond has four scrolls in brown and blue pendant from the outer corners. The border is of two parallel brown lines containing a meander pattern in blue with brown dots (the ox or cow’s urine motif) then an outer border in brown protective triangles. A product of an urban felt maker’s factory workshop.
