textile; sample (textileworking: weaving)

A long narrow weft faced tabby woven textile. It has areas of equal sized alterating black and white bands. These are interrupted by bands of narrower coloured patterning and include red, green, black and white bands, and small black/ red/ green/ orange/ and white blocks. In the centre is a red block framed by a black zig zag motif, both on a white ground. This patterning is worked in discontinuous supplementary weft. The warp ends are unfinished.
