Woman’s dress, part of a wedding outfit. Dress with short sleeves and a square neck. Synthetic ikat: a heavy design in purple-pink, blue, brown, black, grey and green in narrow panels divided vertically by gold and black stripes, with gold wire edging in the form of vegetation as an openwork border around the neck and sleeve hems. Lined with plain white cotton around the shoulders and sleeves. Probably goes with woman’s trousers 1999.122.2 as a wedding outfit (NOT with woman’s trousers’ 1999.116.2 which are work-a-day wear rather than festival wear.
