Square cotton and velvet pot holder, local name surlgu or sulgo, identical with 1999.133. Central decoration is of layered appliqué, a diamond-shaped lattice in red velvet with four panels or windows inset with four staggered layers of ochre and black around a purple centre. The diamond is flanked on all four sides by two parallel bands of black triangles on white ground. All on a coral ground with a plain white border. The holder is backed with a cotton print of white and pink flowers on a pale blue ground.Made and donated by Yrysa Kaken.
