A brass Fon sculpture; figure one, male, seated on a hammock-like swing suspended by a wire from a rod supported on the heads of two figures, male, balanced upright on two legs, arms extended for balance. Attached by screws to varnished, wooden base. Label adhered to base of mount reads "DAHOMEY / A FON BRASS OUP OF A / CHIEF BEING CARRIED / IN PALANQUIN BY TWO / ATTENDANTS."
