Wall hanging, Susani, machine made with homemade embroidery; bought in Shahiqon, NE of Fergana in Fergana Valley. Orange velveteen embroidered in white, purple, brown, yellow and tinsel. The central arch (ornate) has a central pennant with arabesques and two pointed arches above, with a tinsel motif of scrolls with eleven stalks; a central cintamani is in between the pointed arches. The space between the central area and the outer border (both in white chain stitch) is filled with six circular motifs, each with seven concentric circles (one is central), separated by yellow stamens and surrounded by an inner border of green loops, a middle band of yellow undulations and an outer border of white spirals.
