Very finely made woollen sock. The foot is knitted and has a red and black diagonal pattern. The pointed toe is black and the patterning underneath the heel is a black and white diamond lattice. Small areas of red and orange woollen yarn havebeen embroidered onto the top of the foot and at the back of the heel. Sewn onto the foot is a short, ankle, section, worked in fine counted embroidery. There is a large diagonal front and back, worked in white, red, purple, orange, green and gold-coloured metal-wrapped thread. The top of the sock is finished off with alternating rows of white and black/green and orange bands (crochet?). [Textile]
