Cast bronze iron with circular pan and 'ruyi'-shaped rim for holding hot charcoals, smooth and flat base for ironing clothes and a socket with two pierced hole for fitting a handle, which is not present. Decorated on the exterior with five roundels of 'shou' (longevity) characters against a ground of swirling thunder pattern (leiwen), a 'taotie' mask in shallow relief on top of the socket.
