Four-sided, box-shaped women’s (but not exclusively) hat, probably for festival wear. The low base and crown is heavily embroidered in wrapped gold thread. The main motif is of crossed arrows with pointed leaves in each quadrant, and floral motifs on each wall. All motifs are inset with coloured spangles in purple, blue and green. There is a black, artificial velvet brim. This hat might feasibly be worn for everyday as well as festival wear.
