headcloth; textile; shoulder cloth

An unusually long pink and red headcloth or shoulder cloth with macramé fringes. The broad centre panel is pink. Either side of it are two identical panels: a white stripe in the centre, some of it twill woven, flanked by narrow white and wider red stripes. The outside stripes are black and white pick and pick modified by red weft patterning. Each end of the cloth has a wide border made up of pink bands and narrower green and yellow bands. Further yellow and white diamond patterning is worked in discontinuous supplementary weft.
