



Couénophone or goofus sax. Free reed instrument with a brass body, nickel silver touchpieces and detachable mouthpiece. Twenty six keys arranged in two rows in the manner of a piano keyboard. Two thumb rests on the back. Integrated crook sets mouthpiece at a ninety degree angle to the body. No bell flare. Lower end of instrument stamped: "COUÉNOPHONE"/BREVÉTS S.G.D.G/PARIS/FRANCE.
