Concertina. Forty-eight button English system. Fruitwood ends with pine backing, five fold leather edged bellows with green/white paper. Green leather thumb straps and cover on little finger rests. Buttons, probably of bone, with notes stamped on the ends. Edges of both ends stamped: SPRAGUE/LONDON; Card insert on one end stamped: BY HER MAJESTY'S LETTERS PATENT/C. WHEATSTONE/INVENTOR/20, CONDUIT St. REGENT St./LONDON.; Serial number 894 stamped on pine backing of one end.
